experience Rome
The capital of Italy, Rome, lies between the hills and the sea, and encompasses approximately 420 sq. miles. It was originally built on the famous “seven hills” that still form part of the city. Anybody in Rome is sure to experience “La Dolce Vita” (the sweet life) as he or she takes in the city from the Spanish steps or spends an afternoon in one of the various art galleries such as the famous Borghese that is the home to numerous classical masterpieces.
The historical centre (“centro storico”) of Rome may be the largest in the world, however the 100 or so quarters that Rome is comprised of each has its own specific character and feel to it that contribute to the broader Roman culture. Perhaps this is why Romans have the reputation for being an extremely welcoming culture. It’s been said that Romans are more than tolerating, but instead they fully accept everyone regardless of the person’s race, ethnicity, social class, political stance, career, etc.
